Autumn’s First Kiss

Autumn Forest Sunlight

Autumn’s fair princess, October ran through leaves of fire

her heart tangled in Summer’s soft sighs

her lips chilled in Winter’s breath

her gown catching tints of amber & gold

Autumn’s first kiss

Written in response to the Weekend-Mini Challenge by Magaly at Imaginary Gardens with Real Toads, which asked for a micro-poem answering: What does October look like to you? A lovely prompt, and an inspiring month to both photograph & write about. Thanks Magaly!

Here’s a Monarch I captured while out at a fall festival this weekend. October’s beauty comes in so many shapes, colors & creatures!

  1. I too am liking the Autumn Princess. She and nature have a variety of experiences, all hurried, and rushing to the next. It’s all a whirr and the kiss may come too soon.

    1. Kim – I will be happy to take on this challenge! I hope I’m not too late. Thank you for the nomination — now the tough part is choosing beautiful quotes to share! 🙂 Will tag in my next blog post. Stacie

      1. Kim – In process of writing a post for Toads as well as my next blog post! I’m not sure I’ll have room for your quote challenge on this one – so it may need to wait until next week’s post. But I promise I haven’t forgotten! 🙂 Stacie
